Durham School Medical Centre is open from . until . Monday to Friday during term time and staffed by two registered nurses who also hold a first- aid qualification. They provide health advice, literature and help to facilitate health promotion within the School, researching up-to-date information and accessing resources for staff and pupils. The nurses also teach aspects of PHSE (Personal Health and Social Education) within the School. As members of the Health and Safety committee our nurses liaise closely with parents, senior management and House staff to provide continuity of services and care for our pupils. They provide a triage service for sports injuries for day and boarding pupils, liaise with external services for boarding pupils, issue off games slips, advise on health issues and provide pastoral support for pupils, parents and teachers. Our Medical Centre is always on hand to offer advice should you have health concerns about your son or daughter or wish to share information that is relevant to their health and well-being.
